Consensus over the past couple of years consistently show an average household income of no less than 70,000 CAD with over 31% of its population earning more than $100,000 CAD annual income. Most of the city’s labour force works in fields such as finance, administration, and business. It is unsurprising that it would also be home to a plethora of high tech and information technology companies such as Huawei, Rogers Communication and Compuware etc. Because of its high economic status, its economic landscape is largely dominated by small businesses with each employer employing no more than 4 employees at a time. These small businesses serve most of Richmond Hill’s residences ranging from your typical restaurants to acupuncture clinics. The commercial and industrial growth of the city has been at a steady increase in the millions ever since its inception. No wonder the Motto of the city is “Like the rose, I flourish.” Not only is Richmond Hill strong in the business and economic category, it also remains a city with immense science backgrounds. It hosts the largest telescope in Canada, the David Dunlap Observatory telescope. Because of the telescope and its value to the scientific community residing in Richmond Hill, it also remains the only city in York to have light pollution laws in place. Richmond Hill is a great city to visit as well as a city to live if you ever decide to visit Ontario. The wealth and convenience you’ll find at Richmond Hill is hard to be matched anywhere else on this planet.
